A book in the making...
I'm looking for martial artists who might be willing to write blurbs, review, endorse, or promote a book I've just finished, tentatively titled The Kata and Bunkai of Goju-Ryu Karate: the essence of the Heishu and Kaishu kata. This is a step-by-step analysis of the classical kata of Goju-ryu. It is supposed to be out by the spring of 2018 (hopefully), published by North Atlantic Books.
If you read my blog and might be interested, I'd appreciate hearing from you. You can contact me here or through my email address.
Sincerely yours,
Giles Hopkins

I have been a long time reader of your blog and practitioner of GoJu Ryu for many years. I have in the past commented on several of your posts. Although I may not be someone you wish to review your book, I am very interested in obtaining a copy. Can you please let me know when it comes to print and the ISBN number so that I may get a copy.
ReplyDeleteVery Truly Yours,
Michael Gisonda
Hi Michael, Thanks for responding. I don't know exactly what the publishers are looking for either, but I will certainly let you know when it's available, sometime early next year I'm told. All the best, Giles
ReplyDeleteHi, I am also a Goju Ryu practitioner for over 25 years and these are realy good news. Can´t wait to hold a copy in my hands because I found your writings very inspiring.
ReplyDeleteKind regards,
Dirk
Thank you for the kind words. Regards, Giles
ReplyDeleteSame as Dirk. A book written by you is a must. Now anxious waiting the release. Can I make a suggestion? A series of videos on your YouTube channel showing the bunkai mode of the katas as you did with Saifa and Seiunchin would be a perfect complement
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestion, Martin. I have actually been thinking about this, but maybe I'll wait until the book comes out.
ReplyDeleteThat's the idea. Sorry for not being clear. But I'm sure that the book will be awesome. Cheers
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to this!
